BMA – Biochar Moisture Auger
Registries credit biochar on dry mass, and dry mass is only as good as the moisture behind it. BMA measures moisture inline, controls it to a set point and logs dry mass continuously.

Meter, measure and set moisture, and log dry mass
Registries credit biochar carbon removal on dry mass, batch by batch, with moisture measured alongside it. BMA measures moisture on the metered flow and controls it to a set point, so dry mass is fixed where it is measured, not estimated from a daily sample.
See the BDV biochar dMRV system →
Metered feed
Char is delivered at a measured, steady rate.
Inline moisture
Moisture is measured continuously, meeting the registry ±2 % requirement.
Set point control
The char is brought to a controlled moisture continuously, not checked once a shift.
Dry mass logged
Dry mass, the figure biochar carbon removal is credited on, is logged continuously.
Calibration maintained
Calibration is kept current on a fixed schedule, and its status is recorded.
BDV ready
With QCM setting temperature and BBW setting weight, BDV verification records every bag for your registry.
Sized by dry-char throughput
The model number is the maximum dry-char throughput in kg/h at the stated accuracy. ZEDE matches are indicative and depend on feedstock.
| Model | kg/h dry char | Typical match |
|---|---|---|
| BMA-50 | 50 | ZEDE 300 kW |
| BMA-150 | 150 | ZEDE 1000 |
| BMA-500 | 500 | ZEDE 3 MW |
| BMA-1000 | 1,000 | ZEDE 6 MW |

What does the model number mean?
It is the maximum dry-char throughput in kg/h at the stated accuracy. Sizes run from BMA-50 to BMA-1000, with larger systems built to order. At 30 % moisture a BMA-500 carries about 714 kg/h of wet char.
What does BMA do?
It sets moisture. BMA measures moisture inline, brings the char to a controlled set point and logs dry mass, the figure registries credit biochar carbon removal on.
What is BDV?
BDV (Biochar Digital Verification) is our biochar dMRV system. BMA sets moisture, QCM sets temperature and BBW sets weight. Each unit works on its own and ships BDV ready; BDV switches on when all three are commissioned together on one line.
Why measure moisture continuously?
Registries expect moisture measured or controlled for every batch, and a daily grab sample cannot show what went into each bag. BMA measures the metered flow continuously and fixes dry mass there. For scale, a two-point moisture error at 30 % shifts dry mass by about 2.9 %.
How is it priced?
Bought outright or hired on a fixed term, with a BDV subscription once verification is active. Quoted to your throughput.
